چکیده

This study reports the recovery of Pd(II) from acid solution by a polyethylenimine (PEI)-crosslinked chitin (PEI-chitin) biosorbent. FE-SEM analysis demonstrated that there are many slot-like pores on PEI-chitin. The N2 adsorption–desorption experiment revealed average pore size was 47.12 nm. Elemental verified successful crosslinking PEI with raw chitin. Langmuir model better explained isotherm experimental data and theoretical maximum uptake 57.1 mg/g. adsorption kinetic were described pseudo-second-order equilibrium achieved within 30 min for all initial concentrations 50–200 mg/L. In fixed-bed column, PEI-chitin showed slow breakthrough fast saturation performance. desorption experiments concentration factor 8.4 ± 0.4; in addition, cycles column performed up to three times, consequently confirming good reusability recovery. Therefore, can be used as promising biosorbent practical applications.

Adsorption of Zn (II) from aqueous solution by using chitin extraction from crustaceous shell

Removal of toxic heavy metals from wastewater is an important environmental challenge. In this Study, Zn (II) removal from aqueous solution by chitin extraction from crustaceous shells (shrimp and crab) was investigated. The biosorption studies were determined as a function of contact time, pH, initial metal concentration, and the amount of adsorbent. Adsorption of Zn (II) increased with decrea...
